CLASSIC CARS TAKE TO THE STREETS OF PALMA FOR MALLORCA REVIVAL 2008

On Sunday, October 26, the “Classic Car Club Mallorca” is hosting
“Mallorca Revival 2008”, featuring beautifully restored cars from the 50s, 60s and decades before, driving in file on a 30-kilometre round-trip tour through the city of Palma. The stylish ambience of decades past will also feature in the vintage clothing worn by many of the drivers and their companions.

According to event manager Peter Roach (Jan's guest on the show on Sunday 19), the best time to spot these much-loved vehicles on the move will be from 12.30pm. Paseo Maritimo, Jaume 111, Borne, and Plaza Cort are some of the points along the route where keen photographers and petrolheads are likely to get great views. Give them a wave as they pass by!

Find out all about it on this Sunday's programme, when I chat to Peter Roach, the event manager.

Ann MacDonald, editor of the fortnightly publication Talk of the North, brings us up to date with life in the north of Mallorca.

And you'll hear about some of the great events happening on the island, what's made the news here and in the UK, and some of Mallorca's best music!

Join me this Sunday,

NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN IN BUSINESS ON MALLORCA

On Sunday's programme, Juana Pons - the president of the first and oldest (founded in 1971) women's business association in Spain - spoke to Radio One Marratxí about the Associación de Mujeres Empresarias de Baleares (ASEME) – which has just opened its membership to international businesswomen living on the island.

Membership brings many benefits and activities which can help businesswomen to expand their potential, both professionally and personally. The Association, with its long and successful history, enjoys a high level of co-operation from all sectors of local government and has a 'strong voice'.

For more information, visit the new blog specifically designed to inform English-speaking Mallorca-resident business women about ASEME. Updated monthly, it contains all the information you need:
