ROBERTO NEEDS A HOME!

Could you give a lovely cat a safe and loving home? Roberto - a black and white cat who is muy guapo needs a new home. He was found stray a few weeks ago by the wife of the boss of Manacor vet´s Mon Veterinari, and has been cared for there since then.

Roberto is about 2 years old, gorgeous - well look at the pictures! - and very affectionate. He´s a real cuddle cat . . .

He´s been castrated and checked over by the vets. He does, unfortunately, have feline leukaemia, which means he can´t be rehomed with other cats (the disease can spread between cats but not between cats and dogs - and he gets on OK with dogs). He´s well enough not to need any treatment or medication at the moment, though those might become necessary at some point in the future.

I´d have him myself, but already share my home with a Birman cat, so it´s not possible. Roberto is so sweet-natured and is desperate to find a new home and owner. Could that owner be you?

Please call Mon Veterinari to find out more information on 971 55 42 65

SUNDAY 26 APRIL

My studio guest this Sunday was born on Mallorca but has certainly seen the world, travelling to places such as the Caribbean and Mexico, in her previous career in tourism. Today Becky Bellafont-Evans is a mum and running her own business, Mallorca Solutions, in Magalluf - helping people who've relocated to this island to deal with the challenges of settling into their new lives here.

Find out too about a star-studded spectacle happening next weekend on Mallorca: the Pirates' Charity Première, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, is a night not to be missed . . .

And Ann MacDonald, our voice of the north, has details of two great events happening this weekend in Pollensa.

Join me this Sunday, 10am-1pm on 92.9FM.

A MENTOR FOR EVERY CHILD

What an amazing idea! Neil Crofts, Inma Alcina and Kay Newton (pictured left to right) joined me on Sunday's programme to talk about A Mentor for Every Child. If you missed the show, check out www.amentorforeverychild.com to understand why it has such incredible potential for today's youngsters - all over the world. There are several ways to become involved in this exciting project, as you'll read on the website.

Here on Mallorca, there's an opportunity for young people to have their say in how the project should progress, at a special Mentees' Workshop in May. Details are as follows:

Saturday, May 16 10am-2pm

For kids between 12 and 18

Workshop will be conducted in both Spanish and English

Venue: Onda Vital
Carrer Jeroni Alemany 5
07011 Palma de Mallorca

The workshop will introduce mentoring to teenagers, and the basic concepts suggested so far, so that they can contribute their own ideas on the way forward.

On the day there'll also be a competition to find the best web platform name for the project.

Snacks will be provided but attendees should take a cushion to sit on!
