POWER PROBLEMS PREVENT BROADCAST

Technical problems at the Radio One Marratxi studio in Sa Cabaneta have prevented us from broadcasting our programmes in English this Saturday and Sunday - the broadcasting desk is out of action! We apologise for any inconvenience caused and expect normal service to be resumed by next weekend - the first weekend of December.

Cheers and have a good week,

GUEST ON SUNDAY 23 NOVEMBER

As someone who lives in a finca in the Mallorcan countryside, I always enjoy
meeting other people who've chosen the rural lifestyle here. My guest this Sunday
uses the bounty from her family home's land to create delicious things in
her kitchen . . . and uses her expertise and experience in personal development
to help other people - in particular, parents and those she calls "tomorrow's adults" - to improve their lives.

Personal development coach Kay Newton joins me in the studio for
a chat about her life and work this Sunday on Radio One Marratxi,
92.FM.

Have a great weekend,

Jan x

FANTASTIC FUNDRAISER

Following ESRA North's Grand Bazaar last Sunday, Gary Hardley has been in touch to let us know that the event raised an amazing 4,000 euros for the Balearic multiple sclerosis association.

Gary is grateful to Radio One Marratxi listeners for attending and wants to thank everyone involved (especially his unsung hero Sam Burfoot), supporters and helpers, and Nickie Lilles, who was in charge of the event's entertainment.

Well done to you all!

SUNDAY 16TH NOVEMBER

Ever wondered how Mallorca's news makes it into the Euro Weekly News? All will be revealed when the paper's Mallorca reporter Doreen Reeves joins me in the studio. Doreen's lived on the island for 43 years, so she'll probably have loads of stories to tell about her life here too.

We'll also capture the atmosphere of ESRA North's Grand Bazaar in Pollensa, when Gary Hardley joins us from the centre of the action in the Santo Domingo cloisters.

There'll also be all the news, weather, sport and events information you need – and great music too.

Catch you Sunday, 10am-1pm.

Cheers, Jan

SATURDAY 15TH NOVEMBER

This week I'm sitting in for Oliver on the Saturday programme,to bring you news, sport, weather, details about what's happening on the island and, of course, Mallorca's best music.

We'll hear from Captain Eric Bradley, who leads the English branch of The Salvation Army on Mallorca. Find out about his work on the island – and how The Salvation Army can help those in need.

I'll talk to the organiser of an ESRA charity bazaar on Sunday in Pollensa, who'll give us details of what's going to be on offer.

And women in business on the island are invited to a special networking event in Palma . . . we'll bring you the details.

Tune in to 92.9FM this Saturday 10am-1pm with me, Jan.
